Featured: Rematerialise

I have to say, I love these quality, NZ made Beeswax food covers by Rematerialise!

The Beeswax covers are reusable alternatives to disposable plastic, and come in a range of sizes. Perfect for wrapping bread, cheese, cut vegetables, lunches and snacks; the covers hold their shape and seal keeping food fresh naturally.

Beeswax Food Covers

Although not recommended for meat, mine are used purely to cover the cat food dish.  Having an older cat who eats regularly, life is so much easier to cover her food with the covers and pop in the fridge, ready for when she wants another mouthful. Her meat is kept fresh and it's ready for her to eat straight away.

Fiona from Rematerialise also makes reusable produce bags, shopping bags and other upcycled goodies.  Head on over to the rematerialise website to view these fantastic product and more!

Hats, Hats, Hats

For some reason in the past few weeks, Hats have been my favourite winter accessories to knit.  So much so, that I even considered starting a new shop just for knit winter hats!

I've been exploring different styles which has been a lot of fun.  Below are some of my newer creations.

Slouchy Beanies
Fun to knit and lovely to wear.   The first shown is kniited with a wool-blend, self striping yarn, and the second slouchy beanie has been knitted with a charcoal-coloured pure wool yarn.

Orange Slouchy Beanie

Pure Wool Slouchy Hat
Ear Flap Hat
Below is my first attempt at knitting an ear flap hat. This one is knitted in a chunky acrylic yarn, and hopefully I will be able to knit more of this style soon.

Cable-edge Beanie
This is my favourite Beanie to knit, as I love the cable and lace edge.  My latest is knitted in a fabulous emerald green pure wool yarn.

Cable & Lace edge Beanie
Messy Bun Beanie
The latest craze in hats are messy bun or ponytail Beanies. Quick to knit and perfect for those wanting to keep their ears warm with their hair up.

These and other handknit winter hats and beanies can be found in my Etsy Shop or on my Website. I've recently discovered some other designs so hopefully these will be available soon.
